"The Auditor shall keep the books of the City, exhibit accurate statements of all moneys received and expended, and of all property owned by the City and the income derived therefore, and of all taxes and assessments." (RC 733.11).

David S. Locke, City Auditor, is also responsible for:

  • City of Marietta Payroll
  • Accounts Payable
  • Fixed asset tracking
  • Recording all deeds for three cemeteries located in the City of Marietta
  • Being a member of the City of Marietta's Investment Board and Chairperson/member of the Data Processing Board (computers).

    • The City Auditor has three assistants, one chief deputy, Sherri Hess and two deputies, Laura Kerr and William Gilbert.

    The public is afforded excellent professional services, with sixty one years of combined service from the experienced office staff.

    The City of Marietta has 61 operating funds, which are continually updated and monitored to provide available balances in the funds at all times.
