"The Auditor shall keep the books of the City, exhibit accurate statements of all moneys received and expended, and of all property owned by the City and the income derived therefore, and of all taxes and assessments." (RC 733.11).

Sherri Hess, City Auditor, is also responsible for:

  • City of Marietta Payroll
  • Accounts Payable
  • Fixed asset tracking
  • Recording all deeds for three cemeteries located in the City of Marietta
  • Being a member of the City of Marietta's Investment Board and Chairperson/member of the Data Processing Board (computers).

    • The City Auditor has one Chief Deputy, Angela Tucker and two deputies, Cathy Coppernoll and David Roberts.

    The City of Marietta has 61 operating funds, which are continually updated and monitored to provide available balances in the funds at all times.
