Mayor's Jubilee

Area residents and visitors looking for some free family fun this summer need look no further than the lawn of Marietta's Armory on Front Street in historic downtown Marietta.

There, on the third Friday of the months of June, July and August, Marietta Mayor Michael Mullen will play host to a bevy of talented musicians from the area and beyond during the city's annual Mayor's Third Friday Jubilee. "The goal of starting this jubilee was to provide community members and visitors with an opportunity to come together to listen to some of the indigenous folk music that makes this region of the country so special", says Mullen. "We plan to expand the jubilee to encompass even more of that sense of celebration of Appalachian life through more music, food and activities."

In addition to the musical acts slated to perform, vendors from the River City Farmer's Market will also be selling their hand-made crafts, home-grown fruits and vegetables and scrumptious baked goods.
