The purpose of the Development Department is to coordinate partnerships with community groups, pursue grant funding for city projects, and administer the Community Development Block Grant.

The Development Department also offers Housing Programs to income eligible homeowners. The funding comes from U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These programs provide health and safety services for low-income Marietta resident's homes.

2022 Action Planning and Substantial Amendments to Prior Years' Plans - Public Notice Information

The Marietta Department of Community Development has developed a draft of a 2022 Action Plan, as well as substantial amendments to the City's Consolidated Plan created in 2021.  Additionally, the Department has developed substantial amendments to Action Plans 2020 and 2019, as well as Consolidated/Action Plan 2018.  The City of Marietta is putting these plan drafts out for public comment in anticipation of ultimate submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and each proposed plan/amendment draft can be reviewed below:

The Marietta Development Department is requesting public comment on these drafts through June 5, 2022.  A public hearing to receive comments on this plan will be held at 241 Front St., Armory Community Room 10, at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.  The public notice pertaining to publication of these draft plans, which was published in the Marietta Times on April 21, 2022, can be accessed here.

Homeowner Rehabilitation Assistance Programs

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Information
